It was a moment of thanksgiving and dedication to the Holy Father on 30th December when the entire members of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star converged at the Centenary Cathedral in Rukpokwu, Rivers State, Nigeria for the Centenary Celebration of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu.

The weeklong epoch-making event drew BCS members from all over the world in celebration of the physical manifestation of the Holy Spirit Personified in Leader Olumba Olumba Obu.

Heralding the opening of the event, the Akwa Ibom State Association of Brotherhood Academic Scholars (AKS ABAS) embarked on the first awareness outing on October 20th 2018 in Uyo to announce the celebration of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu at 100.

Consequently, Abia State brethren stormed the streets of Aba on 20th November 2018 in a bid to announce to its people of the forthcoming celebration of the greatest centenarian. The awareness outing continued to the streets of Warri in Delta State, and Eket Senatorial District on 8th December 2018, and peaked at Uruan and Nsit Atai Areas of Akwa-Ibom State on 19th and 20th December 2018 respectively, before gloriously coming to an end in Ikot Ekpene on 22nd December 2018.

However, The host (Rivers State) were not left out in the awareness campaign as they took a different dimension and successfully organized a clean-up exercise tagged ‘’Keep Garden City Clean’’ as well as other activities including jogging, special hymns rendition, etc.

The week earmarked for the celebration included a variety of programmes to add colour to the grand celebration of the Holy Spirit Personified. The epic event started on Monday 24th December 2018 with lectures and World Feast Celebration at Ogbumnabali Pentecostal Centre.

The International Choral and Entertainment night took place on Christmas day at Ogbumnabali Pentecostal Centre, followed with a football match on Wednesday 26th December at Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic Sports Complex, Port Harcourt. 

Accordingly, BCS general fasting and lectures were observed at Ogbumnabali Pentecostal Centre on Thursday 27th while the International Choral Competition by the Christ Natural Choristers Fellowship held at Rumukwurusi Pentecostal Centre on Friday 28th with over 10 choirs rendering scintillating and spirit-filled anthems.

On Saturday 29th, the entire BCS members stormed the streets of Port Harcourt in a mega outing spanning over 30km to the Centenary Cathedral venue. The streets of Port- Harcourt were arrayed in white robes clearing away all filthiness and depositing abundance of blessings for the people, country and world at large. The ‘’Show Your Talent’’ event held at Rumukwurusi Pentecostal Centre on Saturday night.

Other activities included the commissioning of two new cathedrals: Ekwe Bethel and Rumukwurusi Pentecostal Centres by His Holiness Obu Olumba Obu. 

However, the grand ceremony on Sunday 30th December at the centenary cathedral, Rukpokwu recorded more than 5000 thousand members in attendance with some travelling as far as the UK, USA, Canada, etc. The atmosphere was filled with joy and love as brethren celebrated the Holy Father’s 100 years of physical manifestation of on earth.

The divine service was conducted by the Holy Father in His Holiness Obu Olumba Obu who charged members to be exceedingly glad for witnessing the manifestation of God on earth and His centenary celebration, praying that the celebration has brought peace to the world and testimonies to all Brotherhood children.
Obu charged members to look unto the Father as the only one who can save them from the penury of the world, adding that every Brotherhood child should be counted lucky for being a partaker of the celebration.

Giving the vote of thanks, the Chairman of the Centenary Planning Committee, Bishop J.O Salubi appreciated the Holy Father for His love to mankind and all creations. He lauded members who found out time to grace the occasion and the numerous gifts/contributions towards the Father’s 100 years birthday.

He prayed for the Holy Father's blessings to be showered unto His faithful children and wished all safe journies back to their respective destinations.

Meanwhile, the Holy Father Leader Olumba Olumba Obu was born on 30th December 1918 in the small town of Biakpan, Cross River Stae, Nigeria
